Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is a key member of the team, and must be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently.  This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career advancement for the right candidate.

Essential Duties

  • Process client payroll, and related paperwork in a timely manner
  • Prepare payroll for delivery to client
  • Communicate payroll related information to clients
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain client folders and files
  • Assist with processing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end processes
  • Respond to client inquiries and concerns
  • Provide exceptional customer service – Ensure high client satisfaction and maintain a high rate of client retention

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of payroll terminology and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic, and be a team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task
  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and timely
  • Manage workload, while meeting multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships
  • Must have the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • PEO experience a plus
  • Darwin and/or Thinkware experience a plus
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Ability to work over-time as necessary
